Who we are
We are a community-led, self-run group. Our members come from diverse backgrounds and hold a variety of political views. Many of us are parents with children in local schools. Our members include stay-at-home parents, accountants, teachers, administrators, business-owners, drivers, lawyers, students, fitness trainers, bankers, authors and retirees. Some of us work or volunteer in caring professions, women and children’s support services, or community safety roles.
Many of us have lived in Epping for decades; others moved here to raise our families. We range in age from teenagers through to people in their 80s.
What unites us is our commitment to a welcoming, respectful and safe Epping, for everyone who chooses to make it their home.

Why we formed
At the start of summer 2025, we were all shocked and angered by the sexual assault of a young girl and a young woman by an asylum seeker residing at the Bell Hotel in Epping. As the town descended into violent protest, many of us became troubled by the disturbing scenes playing out on our streets. We were concerned by the sweeping vilification of all the asylum seekers staying in the hotel.
Some of us started to feel uneasy and ‘unwelcome’ in our own town, where a hostile and intimidating environment formed as flags and graffiti appeared on the high street. Those of us brave enough to voice our concerns were quickly met with abuse. Thankfully, we started to find one another, our confidence grew and Epping for Everyone took shape.
Our aim is simple: to give a voice to local people who believe in respectful dialogue, understanding and community cohesion.
Our platforms
-
Respectful discussion: we welcome disagreement and debate, without hostility.
-
Zero tolerance for violence: we reject intimidation and aggression from anyone, whether local or from outside Epping.
-
Civility over confrontation: we stand for kindness, calm and constructive engagement, even when it’s criticised.
-
Safety and fairness: we believe the UK must make reasonable, firm and ethical decisions about immigration, asylum and border control.

What we do
At Epping for Everyone, we bring people together through inclusive, welcoming community events that celebrate connection and collaboration.
-
Activities and events: our community walks and regular local gatherings were created as a peaceful antidote to confrontational demonstrations, giving residents a safe and supportive way to stand together.
-
Social media: our Facebook page has also become an integral tool for strengthening connections and raising awareness of what’s happening locally, helping our community stay informed and united.
-
Conversations: we actively engage with local leaders, including councillors and our MP, to ensure our voices are heard and to advocate for meaningful representation of our views and position on local issues.
We also speak to local and national media to show the wider country that Epping is home to diverse perspectives, including those who reject violence and division and who stand for compassion and community.
By forging strong links with like-minded community groups, we work collectively to promote the best of Epping, a town we love, believe in, and are proud to call home.
